Synchronize Files and Folders using Powershell

Hello everyone!

Last week I was helping an Application Admin to Synchronize files and folders between Source and Destination Servers. The challenge was because some folders had really long hierarchies, so you could imagine something like this.

I would say that doing this for some files it is really ok, but for my case we are talking about of 10GB of data and around 4K folders in the root level. Basically, this was the solution that I was able to come up.

My Lightining Talk at SQL Saturday Vienna 2018

Hello everyone!

24 Horas de PASS– Edição em Português

Olá pessoal,

Nos próximos dias 29 e 30 de Novembro teremos mais uma edição do 24 Horas de PASS – Edição em Português. O evento já é bastante conhecido da comunidade técnica Microsoft de Data Platform.

Como todos sabem o evento é 100% gratuito e online, então sem desculpas para não participar. Nessa edição terei o prazer de realizar uma apresentação sobre Power BI Report Server e falar um pouco mais sobre esse modelo de Power BI e como sua organização pode também obter. First of all! Really, really thanks dbatools team for this. I don’t have words to describe the impact that you guys have in my job. I use it every single day!

Now… back to the subject..

Those days I was preparing myself for a presentation and started to play around with Online Services Content Packs and decided to use the GitHub App Connector that is available.

In the left bottom of the Power BI area you have the Get Data option.

Once the page is opened you should choose Services and click on GET.

In the search bar just type Github. In the Github connector click on Get it now

Now the fun begins. What about if you want to have a look at your favorite DBA Powershell  Gallery? Off course I am talking about dbatools.io.

SQL Saturday 687 Slovenia – Here I go!

Hi everyone!

The very last SQL Saturday in Europe of this year is taking place in Ljubljana – Slovenia and I can glady say that I will be there, and even better, I am going to be a speaker.

I would say that most of my readers already know what is SQL Saturday, but if you don’t, just go directly to SQL Saturday Home Page, where you can find a very easy explanation to it.

Personaly, I think that SQL Saturday’s are a great opportunity to learn something new in your carrer. For example. nowadays the majority of the sessions that I go are about Database Lifecycle management. However, SQL Saturday’s are also good to meet new people, hear from the experts, etc.. Novos vídeos no canal do Youtube

Olá pessoal,

A algum tempo atrás estava gravando um curso sobre criação de baselines com SQL Server, Integration Services e Reporting Services. Acontece que com a minha mudança de rotina, de trabalho e de uma série de outros fatores a gravação do curso acabou ficando em segundo plano.

Depois de pensar mais sobre isso, decidi que não iria mais continuar a gravação dos vídeos e então resolvi liberar em meu canal do youtube os primeiros que eu tinha gravado. São cerca de 4 a 5 vídeos curtos, mas que passam alguma dicas bem legais.
